⚖️ 3 Ways to Find Balance

It’s August! Vacations are coming to an end, school is starting again and it’s time to get back to our regularly scheduled programs. I, for one, am really happy about it. I know I’ll miss the extra time with my daughter, and I’ll probably complain about the morning commute—but I still like having a routine. 

Both my physical body and my emotional well-being crave set schedules. I even like eating the same thing every day. In general, creating consistency is key for growth and maintenance. Think of it as preservation. Preservation is defined as “keeping alive.” Practice helps us not only to keep alive, but to store physical and emotional energy for those times when the shit hits the fan. 

Tips for cultivating consistency and balance:

  1. Have a set bedtime and wake time. Get on schedule and get some rest!

  2. Carve out time to nourish yourself. Eat meals and snacks at the same time every day, if you can. 

  3. Exercise at the same time of the day, on the same day, weekly.
