Gillian St. Clair, owner of Steadfast and True Yoga, is a mover and shaker. Ashtanga Yoga is her foundational practice, but dance was her first love. Gillian is known for never teaching the same Vinyasa class twice, she has an option for everybody and will find a way into every posture. This series will reflect her light-hearted, but hard-working, take on Vinyasa. Learning from Gillian’s 23 years of experience students will understand how to plan creative vinyasas, give sound alignment cues and modifications, explore other movements, and have a chance to practice teaching with your classmates.


Practice Makes Progress 

Saturday, May 26, 1:00 - 3:30pm

Join Gillian on a journey through some of her greatest hits - it’s like a road trip on your mat! Experience 4 of Gillian’s creative flows, demystify postures frequently used in Vinyasa classes, workshop postures as needed, and learn "all levels" options. Receive hands on assists and learn verbal cues to assist yourself in the flow. 6 months of yoga practice required to attend this workshop.


Sequencing, Aligning, Empowering 

Saturday, May 26, 5:30pm - 7:30pm

Gillian will share various methods for creating Vinyasa sequences that make sense in the body and mind. Learn how to choreograph intelligent flows that are mentally stimulating to the students without straying too far from the roots of your yoga. Vinyasa teachers should have a variety of classes to pull from and students will learn to cultivate their own library for future classes.

Instruction will cover when to demo, when to assist, how to read a room, and how to change your plan when shit just isn't working. Bring a notebook and pen. This workshop is designed for current yoga teachers or students with an interest in teaching, but is not a requirement. 6 months of yoga practice is required to attend this workshop.


MOVE!

Sunday, May 27, 11:30am - 2:30pm

Look at other forms of movement as inspiration to incorporate into Vinyasa flows. Gillian will share Yoga Dance and take Salutations and standing sequences across the floor. There will be exploration within themes, partner postures, levels, pacing, and musicality. Students will cultivate confidence to take yoga off the mat. 


Practicum: Share Your Knowledge

Sunday, May 27, 3:30 - 6:30pm

You can’t learn if you don’t practice -- create and share a sequence with your classmates! Gillian will be present to give feedback both during the creative process and after, but don’t worry, there are no grades! This is an opportunity to combine your passion for yoga with all you’ve learned, express yourself through movement and start adding to that library of flows. This workshop is only open for participants of the full weekend.
