Blocks, belts, blankets, dowels, metal folding chairs and the wall? BKS Iyengar created and used props not to make poses easier, but to make them better. These props enhance our understanding of our practice, our ability to concentrate and deepen into the yogasanas. We will explore familiar poses to create more curiosity in our practice as well as heightened awareness in parts of the body that are under working. Utilizing props in our practice not only gives us support, but also information about our bodies, a sense of direction, intensification of actions, relaxation and stress reduction.
